Jungle Race joins the Touchpoint Open Builders Program

In 2020, global gaming audiences spent approximately 54 billion U.S. dollars on in-game content, according to Statista.com. Little wonder that many games are eager to integrate crypto into their economies, with a new generation of games that encourage players to earn tokens while playing games. Working the crypto markets was never this much fun.

Neal Peters and Marco Colaco have joined forces as founders of Jungle Race, a platform that offers a series of NFT racing games as well as tools for developers to build their own games. Having recently welcomed Jungle Race to the Touchpoint Open Builders Program, we’ll let the team behind Jungle Race describe it in their own words.

Jungle Race games combine NFT (game characters, vehicles and more can be created, developed and traded) and DeFi (the marketplace is fuelled by our native JRG token and the Shimmer SMR token, with more digital currencies to be supported, while staking and liquidity pool farming will be part of Jungle Race’s utilities). In the future, we want to introduce AR/VR elements to allow players to interact with each other in a 3D garage, NFT marketplace and gaming arena. The Jungle Race platform will also offer tools for game developers to grow their own games.

More about our founders: Neal Peters and Marco Colaco have previously collaborated on Global Guidance Group, a venture capital specializing in web3, and separately they have experience in several crypto projects. We are participating in Microsoft’s ID@Azure program that gives us access to several development tools. We’ve received help in building long-term tokenomics and been introduced to investors by AscendEx and RainMakerGames, while the Oasis Foundation and Reef Finance networks are supporting development, co-marketing and financial support through grants.

Jungle Race has three main objectives.

The first is to solve the problems that plague crypto gaming, which has been held back from full mainstream adoption by bloated rewards systems, archaic graphics, sludgy gameplay, high fees, and complicated onboarding requirements. Jungle Race games ramp up the most important aspects of traditional gaming – vibrant graphics paired with fun and exciting gameplay – to put the focus back on playability and the best end-user experience.

Our second objective is to create value for all parties involved, including developers, investors, and gamers. Alongside our games, we’re offering a platform to be used by other game developers. Developers save precious time and money by turning to our game hub for all standardized solutions necessary to build and launch a blockchain game, such as multiplayer services, blockchain integration (including multi-chain integration), security and monitoring, NFT marketplaces, gamefi protocols – rather than searching for separate parties to handle each of these services.

Investors and gamers, meanwhile, will be rewarded by a well-balanced tokenomics structure set for sustainable growth. Our token economy isn’t weighed down by a bloated rewards system that is the downfall of countless blockchain games. Instead, we’ve put a cap on the rewards users can earn just for playing, while performance-based rewards incentivize players to keep playing and perform well. We believe that this dynamic will keep a sustainable balance in the treasury to continue operations and assure long term success. Also, our seed and private investors will have a substantial vesting period. This assures our token will not be dumped right after launch, and that our investors trust us in the long term to deliver on our roadmap.

Finally, our third objective is to provide a seamless, visually stimulating and fun gaming experience to capture a worldwide gaming audience. Audiences can easily access Jungle Race thanks to its multi-chain integration, cross-chain interoperability, and feeless transactions – all made possible by Shimmer and all of which ensure low barriers to onboarding.

What’s next? After the release of the initial game, Jungle Race Fly, comes the introduction of the game hub, NFT marketplace, vehicle rental system, and staking/farming into the Jungle Race ecosystem, while other games (Jungle Race Boats, Jungle Race Karts, and Jungle Race Run) will be produced in subsequent phases.

Jungle Race games will rely on the Shimmer network and the $SMR token will be one of the main currencies to trade in our ecosystem. Special NFT boxes with Shimmer cosmetics commemorating the partnership will be sold in the first few campaigns, making them rare items.

Finally, after the four flagship Jungle Race games are out, the game hub will be brought to market as a standardized turnkey solution offering multi-chain blockchain integration and tooling on top of a dedicated zero-gas L2 network, giving game developers the ability to effortlessly build amazing games.”
