Battle for Activity on the ShimmerEVM Testnet

TL;DR:
With the launch of the public ShimmerEVM testnet we are introducing Treasures of Shimmer, a two-week-long incentive campaign starting on 03.05.2023 It will reward projects and users for participating in the public testing of the EVM chain and the dApps deployed on it. Participants can earn a share of a total of 1,300,000 $SMR tokens.

Avast and ahoy all Web3 pioneers, treasure hunters, and veterans of our beloved IOTA and Shimmer community: the ShimmerEVM testnet has finally set sail and we are beyond excited to announce our testnet campaign Treasures of Shimmer, sponsored by the Tangle Ecosystem Association (TEA).*

This campaign is a treasure trove of opportunities for all treasure hunters, DeFi explorers, and dApp pioneers alike. We invite everyone to hoist their flags and get ready to battle for a total of $SMR 1,300,000 on our EVM testnet.

The campaign fleet will hit the high seas at 3 pm CET on 03.05.2023.

The quest for glory is simple

During a two-week-long battle for activity, we’ll be tracking the smart contract activity of all participating projects. The larger the activity, the bigger the share of the treasure. Yes, pirate, you heard right: the more a project is used, the more $SMR tokens will be distributed to it, and, in true buccaneer manner, the earned booty will be shared generously by the competing projects with their saber-rattling crew - the users testing the competing dApps. (And rumor has it that the projects will further reward their loyal sailors by adding their own additional goodies to the treasure chest!).

Do you have a product ready to deploy on the ShimmerEVM testnet? If so, now’s the time to apply and send your battleship of a dApp into the race for activity. Just fill out the application form here.

But be prepared: Before lifting anchors and setting sail, one member of your legendary crew must complete a KYC process. And we need to collect your project’s smart contract address so we can keep our one-eyed gaze on your activity.

While one of this quest’s purposes is to battle-test the EVM testnet in anticipation of the upcoming ShimmerEVM launch, we can’t wait to see what you all have been buidling for many moons.
